Funkenschlag V. Power Grid
Jun. 3rd, 2004 11:28 amAll right, Sean's birthday is coming up and Glenn and I really wanted to get him something he wants as opposed to a gift certificate or something he might look at and say "oh, how nice". Now we know how much he liked Funkenschlag. He played it at gaming weekend and has wanted it since. But it's not easy to find. But, Glenn doesn't usually give up when he sets his mind to something. So, he searched and searched, but all he could find is Power Grid.
Funkenschlag (first edition) Description
A different take on a railway game, where you try to connect tracks. Here you try to connect POWER! Players string together power lines by using oil, coal, or uranium. 2F's games always use some interesting new mechanisms and this game is no exception.
Power Grid (English language edition of Funkenschlag) Description
This is the new and improved (rules and graphics!) Funkenschlag from Friedemann Friese. Players compete to build the best network of power lines and stations, choosing which cities to supply and what sources of power to use.
( differences between the two games )
Now easier gameplay, shorter playing times... that sounds good to me, but I am never really sure with Sean. I don't want him to be dissapointed with the game... ::sigh:: But we have to decide. We don't have that much time....
