Glenn and I got back from Carl's wedding Sunday. It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful drive... or so Glenn said. I slept the whole way. We got to the rehearsal late. It was held at the place the cerempny was to be in... Bushkill Falls in PA. It's a lovely area, with very pretty waterfalls, but while we all slept Friday night, it was flooded out. Woops. The bride and groom had not taken anyone's advice on trying to come up with an alternate plan in case it rained. The hotel where the reception was to be help were very nice and set up a room for the ceremony. It still took us forever to get there because of all the flooding and closed roads. Ick! But we got there, and the wedding went very well. The bridesmaids dresses were really very ugly, but we all wore them and smiled. The thing that annoyed me at the wedding was that the maid of honor and 2 of the bridesmaids went down to the pool and jumped in while wearing their dresses, WHILE the reception was still going. They came back up dripping all over the dance floor for the bouquet toss (which I had to talk to the DJ to get him to hold off... he was not happy 'cause at that point there was only an hour to go). It wouldn't have bothered me except that they needed to be there for the bride... ::grumble:: But, as far as I could tell, she didn't notice they were gone. There were many escapades the morning of te wedding, including the groom who went down the street to the bank and took nearly an hour, and forgot his checkbook to pay people, oh and lost his keys after the wedding... Anyone who knows Carl, though, knows this is normal. And anyone who knows Carl also knows that there was bound to be hurricane like conditions on his wedding day. It's over though, and I am glad, oh so glad to be home where it is kinda sorta a little more sane.
