Well, Saturday was moving day and all wen't fairly well. We got pretty much everything done that needed to be done before we moved in, and a few more things done afterwards. The house looks cute, although still needs more work. The move was exausting, even with having professional movers doing a huge chunk of the work. My only complaint is that they ignored the writing on a number of boxes and put things that belonged inthe kitchen and basement into our second bedroom (upstairs). That meant my Dad went up and down the stairs bringing it all here it belonged. The only other problem that cropped up was that my bed was too big to get upstairs. It just wouldn't go. (The house was built in 1900, I am guessing their beds were much smaller). The movers tried to get it into the window, but while it would have fit after pulling the window out, it had a middle bar that wasn't removable. So, we ripped out our railing on the stairs. Not a big deal since we were going to replace the railing anyway, we just weren't going to do it yet. Next weekend we go to NY, and the weekend after is work outside the house. We want to get the lawn and garden together so that we can put the fence up the following week. Then, it will be back inside the house to work on the bathroom and hopefully the shelves in the basement. Looks like my Christmas party I was going to have in August isn't going to happen. Too much crap to do, and I want to get a lot of it done before the winter. I might have to have an actual christmas party at the right time of year. All I can say is thank goodness we don't have to travel back and forth between the house and apartment anymore.
